Reticulation Samples

"A Time to Return"
The rock shape in foreground was left bare, showing
how the base colors have influenced the foils.  The foil shapes
were all scrap leftovers from old pieces, which became two
famous Australian icons when combined on this piece!

"Forgotten Tides"
Opaque colors were sifted through old stencils of rock patterns
over black base coats.  Some of the silver which developed a
coral-like texture was left bare.

"Coral Reef"
Unfinished piece showing changes in the color of the gold foil
from the opaque colors underneath before any transparent
enamels have been applied.

Workshop Demo Piece, Tempe, AZ, '02
A simple black base with reticulated foils, embellished with
sifted fluxes and wet packed transparents.

"Travelling Along, Virginia"; demo piece, Washington '02
When the semi-completed piece was turned on it's side,
these randomly used foil shapes reminded me of the inventive
cars drawn by my small grandson.  I added details drawn in
'carefree luster' and punched out silver foil symbols.
